All About Mrs. Coiner
Hi! I am so excited to be your teacher this year!! I'm sure you're wondering who your teacher is going to be, so I'm going to tell you a little bit about me. I was born and raised in Apex, North Carolina. I went to elementary school at West Lake. Go Wallabies! I remember my third grade teacher very well, her name was Mrs. Faye. My favorite third grade memory was choosing a class president. We all had to come up with persuasive reasons why we should be voted for. One of my classmates last name was Troast, so in his slogan he said, "Vote for Troast and I'll make you toast!" It was so silly and our class had such a good laugh about it, that I still remember that to this day!
I graduated from East Carolina University with a major in Elementary Education and a concentration in Hispanic Studies. I also studied abroad in Guadalajara, Mexico at CEPE University and received a minor in Spanish. I LOVE Spanish and am trying to practice more to become fluent again! I am looking forward to practicing Spanish in the classroom with everyone!
My husband and I have two fur babies: we have a cat named Maggie Mae and a dog named Millie Mae. Maggie likes to sleep....a lot and Millie likes to play....a lot! These two certainly act like siblings and have a relationship just like Chance and Sassy from Homeward Bound, my favorite movie! (You should watch it if you've never heard of it!)
I taught 2nd grade for 5 years. This will be my third year teaching 3rd grade and this will be my first year at Salem Elementary.
I look forward to getting to know all of the students in my class. It's going to be a great year!
